My Life

This is a slice of what my life feels like right now.  For all of you readers out there who've been wondering what my brain looks like, here's a visual for you.
Daughter #6, who happens to be three right now, was having a great time that day.  She loves to do crazy things like this and talk to them and rearrange them....

It made me smile.  The sight of this odd jumble of Polly Pockets, animals, and the angel from our Play Mobile Nativity set, seen here without the hair and halo, gave me a great big belly laugh.

I see the joy in this jar.  I see the chaos.  I bet that cat is NOT liking the mix.  I think Barbecue Man, down on the bottom, is having a hard time breathing.

And that, my friends, is how I feel, by turns, these days.  Joyful.  Chaotic.  BEWILDERED.  STUCK.  Learning in the midst of it all.

How was your day??

Oh you are funny. I love to read your posts because each one is so different depending on how you're feeling that day. I LOVE the jar too...what a hoot! Reminds me a bit of how Morgan played when she was little...

What a fun post....we will forget all these little moments some day--army men lined in a row, polly pockets on dressers, lego men nestled among the nativity (I'm sure a wee one thought they should be also worshipping the King). It is beautiful that you took the time to record this. I need to pull out my camera more often...

Sometimes life feels just like that!
Looks like your daughter was having a wonderful time there! Ellie also talks to her toys as she plays - must be a girl thing!

Love the jar. I agree with Kathryn, your posts are each unique to what you seem to be feeling that day.

I just said to Shane, last night, amid the absolute CHAOS of the boys and their 'playing'....

"I'll be so glad to have a girl who will just SIT and play quietly with like, a DOLL or a Polly Pocket or something."

HA!

Girls are so cute.

hahahahahaha What a gift - seeing the humor and wisdom in the smallest everyday things!

I love that you bought Bibles in memory of Janie. You know after Rebekah went to heaven and we were wheeled into our hospital room, I remember asking Dale to read from Psalms for me. We were so unprepared and didn't even have our bags, but Dale looked in a drawer and found a Gideon Bible. Those first few hours were such a fog, but I remember the sound of my dear husband's voice and God's words that seemed to be speaking to me. What a precious thought it is to think that the Bibles you donated may also help other bereaved parents in the years to come.

Hugs....

Love the jar! My friend in MN had a bat in her toilet one morning. It was desperately treading water with it's tiny limbs trying to keep it's head about water. She took a picture of it and sent it to me. Some days I feel very much like a bat in a toilet.

My daughter's "make soup" out of their toys and roll up their socks for stuffed animal pillows. This stage is quickly passing. I remind myself of that daily.

And thank you so much for your gracious comment on my blog. It continues to bless and encourage.

May your New Year be full of joyful moments!

that jumble of joy is funny and slightly disturbing at the same time.
